So, how did Kids and Confidence get started? Well, I know that words are extremely powerful. They can tear you down or they can uplift you. I chose to really focus on the latter with my first born, Mia. At the age of 2, I had her reciting simple, but powerful affirmations. This soon became a part of our daily routine. In 2022, Mia was ready to start preschool. I thought it would be sweet and comforting for her if she had a note in her lunch box from me, a little reminder half way through the day that Mommy loves her. And that is exactly what the first note said “Mommy loves you”. Over the next few days, the notes turned into affirmations. She can’t read yet, so our car rides to school were spent going over the “affirmation of the day”. I let her know what it said and explained it to her, giving her examples of how she could apply the affirmation to her challenges.

After months of thinking and searching for affirmations, it became a little stressful. I began to wish there was an affirmation deck for preschool age kids. I told this to my husband and he shared that he wished it was already written on a notepad. And right there in our car, after dropping Mia off at school, the first thought for Kids and Confidence was born. If you know me, you know I love to execute. Whether it’s a home project, a themed birthday party, or a business idea. So, I got right into action. This brand was truly inspired by my daughter, Mia in hopes that I can inspire other parents to uplift, empower, and build confidence in their children at an early age, one affirmation at a time.
